You will take eight professional core courses that will prepare you to handle unique educational situations and become an amazing teacher. These education courses focus on a variety of important topics including the science of teaching reading, using technology as an educator and teaching to a diverse classroom.  These eight professional core courses are also coupled with preclinical experience to help ensure you are ready for your classroom.

This path includes coursework and assessments, as well as a preclinical experience that includes observation hours. While you’ll complete your coursework online, you’ll also get in-classroom experience.

We designed this teacher preparation program to be timely, relevant, and practical—in other words, to make sure your bachelor’s degree proves you’ve acquired the advanced knowledge and skills to help students learn.

Every course focuses on clearly defined competencies you must prove you’ve learned—through tests, papers, projects, or other assessments. Demonstrating mastery is how you pass a course, so learning what it takes to be an outstanding educator is at the heart of our program.

120 Hour Credit Program to receive a Bachelor of Science in Transformational Christian Education.

Our goal: You graduate with little or no debt.

By charging tuition on a monthly basis, our students are able to keep their college tuition debt to a minimum.  Most of our students are working adults, providing for their families while also attending Hartwell.  We recognize the challenges this brings and work to develop a financial plan that helps you accomplish your goals while still providing for those that rely on you.

Each state in the U.S. has specific testing requirements that must be met or completed in addition to completing your bachelor’s degree program. Teacher licensure requirements vary depending on state laws and may include a number of factors, such as:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree program
  • Submission of official transcripts
  • Completion and clearance of a background check
  • Passing of required entrance exams and basic skills tests
