Heather Carnes is an accomplished educator with a diverse academic background, including an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, M.A.T. in Secondary Education, and B.A. in English and Spanish. Her extensive experience spans various roles such as Director of Curriculum & Instruction, Assistant Principal, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, ESL Cognitive Coach, and ESL District Coordinator and Teacher. Carnes has held certifications in areas like Superintendent, Principal, Early Childhood Education, Secondary English Language Arts, Elementary Self-Contained, and English as a Second Language. At Hartwell, Carnes’ expertise in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and English language learning equips aspiring K-12 educators with the skills to create inclusive and effective learning environments. Her passion for empowering students aligns with Hartwell’s mission of nurturing compassionate and dedicated educators.
