Meet Tom

Hartwell proudly introduces Tom Wurst, an accomplished educator dedicated to shaping the next generation of quality, caring K-12 educators. With a Master’s in Secondary Education from the University of Houston, Clear Lake, and a Bachelor’s in Education from the University of North Texas, Mr. Wurst brings a wealth of knowledge to his students. He has extensive experience teaching in four suburban school districts in Texas, where he excelled in designing instructional materials and assessments.

As a distinguished teacher awarded by the National Council for Geographic Education, Mr. Wurst has also authored significant educational publications, including “Geography By Design.” His work as a College Board Consultant and AP Human Geography exam reader ensures his deep understanding of curriculum standards.

At Hartwell, Mr. Wurst’s expertise in geography, curriculum development, and professional development is invaluable in mentoring aspiring educators, preparing them to create impactful and engaging learning environments.
